About me: Hello, my name is Alexandra Andrei, I am a nursery nurse practitioner and I work with children. I am fundraising on behalf of Tender Love Arms (a non-for profit organisation) who care and support orphan children and underprivileged homeless children of impoverished African nations.

The big issue: Children are our future. Youths, the hope of that future. But for many, that future is uncertain. Lives shaped poverty, hunger, exploitation, abuse and lack of opportunity at a young age are indescribably distressing. Including the loss of love, support and comfort of a family life, an orphan child is the most tragic and poignant symbol of heartbreak unimaginable.

My vision: I am here because I believe every child should be safe. Because I want every child to have an equal opportunity. Because I believe every child should have a childhood.

My mission: I am dedicated to one thing and one thing only: helping to build a world where every orphan and young people will have an equal opportunity, where every child matters.

With the money raised: The money I will raise will be used to create opportunities for orphans and underprivileged young people to build their lives, protect themselves, gain skills and confidence to face the challenges of life and feel empowered to change the world around them.

The money raised will also be used to build a home for the homeless street children. I believe in strengthening the capacity for self-help and I want to use this opportunity to welcome supporters of all nationalities and faiths to change the world by donation.

A big part of who I am is about giving back: I have not lost hope in humanity. I still believe in humanity and I know we still have good people around. I have an inborn passion to help the needy and the underprivileged; this is the way I believe I am giving back to humanity.
