Story

Coventry Food Network is a partnership of 15 organisations who run Social Supermarkets to help people who are struggling to purchase food and feed themselves and their families.

The food hubs operate in Foleshill, Hillfields ( x2) , Radford (x2) Henley Green, Cheylesmore, Tile Hill, Canley, Stoke Aldermoor, Stoke Heath, Spon End, Stoke, Willenhall & Holbrooks.

These social supermarkets run a membership scheme and provide approximately £25 worth of food for £5. The £5 raised each week from the members is used to pay for Fareshare delivery’s and also to top up non donated items.

The difference between a food bank and a social supermarket is people get a choice of food items and also people seem less embarrassed to access this service when they need help as they make a contribution.

Members of the food hubs often volunteer at their social supermarkets, So it is run by members for members. Our social supermarket supports people who are on benefits/ pensioners and people who are working and on a low income and struggling to feed themselves and pay bills.

Without our help many families will suffer this year as demands for our services is increasing. People are already struggling with the cost of living crisis and with rising energy costs, this winter will be particularly hard for them. Please help if you can by leaving a donation so we can continue this important work.
