What is the cause?

Thirteen students from The Stanway School, Colchester are setting off on a 4 week life-enhancing, selfless school expedition to Borneo in July 2019. They are currently undertaking one of the hardest challenges of their lives by raising £4500 each in order to travel. And that's where they need your help!

The students will be contributing to life-changing project work benefiting the lives of many local men, women and children who are less fortunate than ourselves. In addition, they will work on conservation projects aimed at preserving the stunning landscape of Borneo and the exotic wildlife within it - including visiting the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary to aid with the rehab of injured/orphaned orangutans. Their contribution to the Camps International efforts will undoubtedly leave a profoundly positive impact.

What is the event?

In order to raise money for the students' fundraising totals, Mr Bland, Mrs Jaggard, Mr Johnson and Mr MacPhail will be completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. This will involve climbing the three highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales within 12 hours - Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The total walking distance is 25 miles and the total ascent is 5200ft! They will be completing this on Saturday the 30th of June 2018.
