This is my story.....in December 2017 I started to feel unwell and very quickly went down hill. I was sent home on several occasions by the doctors thinking it was nothing too serious! Then on the 3rd admission to hospital they decided to investigate as I was becoming more and more unwell.

They decided to do an emergency investigation as I had what looked like a bowel blockage. After an 8 hour operation I was told that it was cancer, that it had spread everywhere and they thought that it was terminal.

A few weeks later after the histology report came back I was greeted by a lot of smiling doctors saying that it was Burkitts Lymphoma and a very treatable one at that giving me a 55% chance of survival even at stage 4.

I was treated in the haematology ward (ward 9) by what I can only describe as a truly remarkable team, who work around the clock to treat patients with a great deal of care and compassion. It is because of their amazing efforts and speedy treatment that I was given remission in June 2018. 3 years on I remain cancer free!

So to celebrate my 3 year remission I'm doing a 350 km off road ride over 4 days to raise money towards essential equipment for Ward 9, Musgrove Hospital, Taunton. I'm grateful in advance for anything you can contribute.
