On Sunday 9th June 2024 staff from GP Care Services Ltd are walking 7.5 miles in aid of the Willows Dementia Hub, Rochdale. With your support, no one will have to face dementia alone.

Whether you are a seasoned walker or just starting out, a sponsored walk is a great way to get active and raise money for the Willows Dementia Hub, Rochdale.

The walk will take place under the guidance of the renowned local Trail Walker, with marshalling support from first aiders and staff. 75 places are available and will set off from The Woodlands Café at The Willows Dementia Hub, off Broad Lane and head towards The Woodlands Café at the scenic Dunwood Park, Shaw and finally end up at The Woodlands Café at Hollingworth Lake. The walk will take in some of the local beauty spots and scenic views across the borough. The route is mainly flat and considered a moderate walk. Refreshments will be free of charge at the start, middle stopping point and end of the walk and we estimate the walk to take around 6 hours. Transport back to the start will also be provided.

The Willows Dementia Hub is a complete specialist support unit under one roof, supporting adult living with dementia and their families and carers. The hub contains the Willows Dementia Unit offering 22 beds for permanent residential care. Our Comfort Day service offers up to 6 days per week respite care for service users and their families/carers. Willows at Home, a unique service, supports, and enables families to keep their loved ones at home for longer. The Woodlands Café network around the area in Rochdale, Shaw and Hollingworth are open to all, offering a safe space for everyone to come together to enjoy quality, home cooked, hot, and cold food open 7 days a week.
