Story
I am applying on behalf of Hillview School PTA committee.
The View@East St is a post 16 provision that offers a curriculum to those who do not meet the criteria for Level 3 study and for whom college is not the right pathway. Within the centre there is also the Viewpoint provision that supports KS4 students, who find accessing education in school a challenge, the facility to learn within a setting that is right for them.
The aim for the provision as a whole is to make sure that no child falls into a gap and has the opportunities to achieve and thrive.
The View @ East St will run alongside the Viewpoint provision and will support KS4 students from across West Kent: Students who have struggled to engage with education within their secondary school setting. This building is completely standalone from any school site and aims to improve life chances with the help of smaller classes, dedicated staff to build solid relationships with and pastoral support.
Money raised is currently for set up costs. The centre needs to complete the classrooms with furniture, desks and chairs. Digital resources: laptops/computers, white boards and projectors. Social areas of soft chairs and lockers.
