We were very proud to be the ambassadors for the Maidenhead for Ukraine Community Group - We delivered the shipment on the 1st April 2022.

We reached over £6,000 and are going to continue forward so that we can send the next Bus load down in a few weeks. Please continue to support.

STOP – PLEASE READ. We are personally delivering 1.5 TONS of medical supplies to hospital in the Ukraine this FRIDAY the 1st of APRIL 2022.

We are not stopping there - we have already sent 6 TONS and want to send much more - but need the funds to get the donations to the Medical Teams.

On Thursday we three Dads (Rich, Jon & Adrian) from Maidenhead are driving the 1200 miles to the Ukrainian boarder to give the incredible, and so very brave Ukrainian Doctors, the urgent medical supplies that the amazing community of Maidenhead and the surrounding villages and further afield have donated. Led by a surgical doctor here in Maidenhead, many in our community have been donating and then processing the urgent medical supplies ready for shipment to the boarder - we now need to get them there.

WE ARE RAISING MONEY TO HELP PAY FOR THE LOGISITICS OF GETTING EACH AND EVERY DONATION INTO THE HANDS OF THE MEDICAL TEAMS THAT SO DESPERATLY NEED THEM.

The round-trip cost is £2000+ in Fuel, ferry, Accommodation, Insurance and tolls plus the cost of the £6k, 17 year old Minibus, called ‘Sunni*’, which we have bought as hiring was completely unsustainable due to rising transportation costs (£4k+ per trip) and any other way (big collections) we could NOT guarantee that the right people would get the supplies they need.

We are raising enough finds to cover sustained and regular trips to the border - please help where you can.

We will pay for your 'JUST GIVING' fees to a maximin of £1 per donation so that all your donation goes to the fund - we are also working hard in the background to be able to 'retrospectively' collect gift aid from your donations as well.

We URGENTLY need your help. There is amazing global response to the war in the Ukraine right now which we support unequivocally, however there is a constant and urgent need for very particular medical supplies to get into the hands of the Doctors that are still able to operate in some of the most affected and dangerous areas.

EVERY SINGLE DONTATION is appreciated from a box of 45p paracetamol to torches and batteries, baby food, baby wipes, tourniquets, disposable rubber gloves, paraffin dressings, torches, wound closure strips, medical sewing kits, batteries, medical kits, antiseptic wipes, torches, field dressings, syringe needles, skin glue, burn dressings, sterilising tablets, surgical tape, aspirin, inhalers, eye wash and patches, oxygen in cylinders, broad spectrum antibiotics, reading glasses, water proof ground sheets, thermal blankets, coffee, porridge, E45 cream, hand sanitiser, sleeping bags, protein bars, nappies, head touches, solar or wind up torches, ration packs, dried food (light weight, packable), bandages, Medical Otoscope sets, band aids, Calpol, sanitary products, wound closure strips, medical kits all the way to £1500 defibrillators and pads, we are also making sure that we get Body Bags to offer some dignity at the end, until their families can once again come home and say goodbye to their fallen heroes.

We will make sure every 10ml syringe, field dressing, pain killing medicine and burn kits get to the front line by driving down to the border ourselves and putting in the car boots of the Doctors on the Front line.

You or your company can sponsor the mini bus - we will get your logo or name on the side for £500 which we will spend on the key medical equipment that the Field hospital Doctors are asking for.

100% OF ALL MONEY RAISED WILL GO TO THE LOGISTICS OR THE PURCHASE OF KEY MEDICAL SUPPLIES THAT THE MEDICAL TEAMS NEED TO KEEP SAVING LIVES ACROSS THE UKRAINE.

*The sunflower (or “soniashnyk”) is Ukraine's national flower which is why we have adopted the name for our local response to the war in the Ukraine. Sunni is our trusted slightly ancient mini bus that is working hard for us just now and making the 50 hour, 2500mile trips to the border and back. The Sunflower Fund has been set up to support the Ukrainian refugees as they come to stay with the many volunteer hosts across Berkshire. Any funds left over will be used to help our Ukrainian gusts as they start to find a path back to normality and a future for their children.... in the meantime we 'have their backs'.
