Iʼve raised £245 to raise funds for the NYCB Bursary Fund 2022. Music should be inclusive and this fund will help at least 5 young musicians join us next year.

Story
This bursary fund has been created to ensure that nobody is prevented form attending our course due to financial reasons. We hope to raise £4250 to provide bursaries for at least 5 musicians.
The National Youth Concert Band was founded in 2018 to nurture talented young woodwind, brass and percussion players of all backgrounds from across the UK, and as a flagship for promoting the wind band and its vibrant and varied repertoire. We launched the National Children's Concert Band in 2021 to provide the same opportunities to younger musicians and ran the two events side by side for the first time during late July, 2021. All members apply and audition annually to ensure the high standard of each band is maintained from one course to the next. Our young musicians are tutored and conducted by some of the UK’s leading professional musicians and educators, who are all specialists in their field and have a broad range of experience teaching at highly respected institutions and playing in professional orchestras, as well as the West End. We also take great pride in our team of qualified pastoral staff, who are on-site 24/7 to make sure everyone is happy and healthy, putting on entertainment in the evenings and providing any support that’s needed.
During our 2021 course we welcomed 83 young musicians to our Youth and Children's bands for a wonderful week at Old Swinford Hospital school. During a week of intensive sectionals and rehearsals with inspiring and passionate staff, a wonderful week was had by all and the final concerts will live long in the memory.
