Story

Throughout 2025, I plan to run the Superhalf series, across 6 European cities: starting in Lisbon, then to Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cardiff, before finishing in Valencia.

I started running when I was 10 at primary school, and haven't really stopped since (not literally). In all honesty, I never used to enjoy it that much, I thought it was boring, and everyone at my club was so much better than me.

Fast forward 12 years and I can barely go a week without running.

Don't get me wrong, it hasn't always been that way, however, just by being consistent with something to some extent, could turn into something that you actually end up to love.

10 year old me would never have thought I'd be taking on 6 half marathons, let alone for our own CIC!

Running allows you to switch off from the outside world, it gives you something to focus on, and constant goals to strive towards. You can do it almost anywhere, you can run for 2 minutes or you could run for 2 hours. And it only takes the right mindset and a pair of trainers to start.

In 2023, it was found that More than 1 in 4 children aged 8 to 16 years (26.8%) with a poor mental health had a parent who could not afford for their child to take part in activities outside school or college. Thats approximately 8 children, per class.

We aim to work with school children, facilitating run clubs, and give them the opportunity to run, and do our bit to prevent this percentage getting any bigger.

But also to hopefully show how exciting running can be when you take the 'boring' out of it, and that when you stick at something, no matter how good or bad you are at it, you don't know where it could take you.
