The Solway School Run
Were raising £5,000 for a children in poverty in Dumfries & Galloway
This summer we’re taking on a challenge across Dumfries & Galloway to support local children heading back to school.
Starting in Portpatrick on the west coast and finishing in Langholm in the east, a team of us will walk the entire width of Dumfries & Galloway in just three days.
That’s over 90 miles... more than 30 miles per day.
Why? Because for some families locally, the cost of returning to school can be a real challenge. Uniforms, School bags, stationery, sports kit and everyday essentials all add up.
The Solway School Run aims to raise funds to ensure that children from underprivileged families in our region can start the school year with the equipment and confidence they deserve.
The event is being organised by Walton's Consultancy in partnership with Queen of the South Community Trust and The Jolly Harvester, Caxton's Spirits & JG contracts organisations doing fantastic work supporting young people across the region.
This isn’t just about walking across the region, it’s about making sure that every child starts school feeling EQUAL, prepared and ready to learn.
If you would like to support the challenge through sponsorship, donations or by helping spread the word, we’d love to hear from you.
Together we can make a real difference for children in Dumfries
