The mission of the Marches Songbook is to enrich the culture and communities of the English-Welsh Borders through engagement with local poets, composers and performers. We are currently fundraising for a collaborative project between the Cross Border Poets and Worthenbury composer Patrick Larley.

From the story of an elopement through the Pepper Gate in Chester to the drowning of two Welsh princes under Farndon Bridge, poets will draw inspiration from local folklore to craft contemporary ballads of the borderlands. These will then be set to music, creating a collection of songs to be performed at future Marches Songbook events.

All donations will be used to support the organisation in its cultural aims. The Marches Songbook CIC is a registered social enterprise limited by guarantee. Any surplus from specific projects will be reinvested in future activities for the benefit of the community.
