Story

Cllr Jan Cover, Town Mayor of Thatcham will walk the entire parish boundary of Thatcham in a celebration of the wonderful diversity of our beautiful town and to inspire other "Septuagenarians" to get active and get healthy! Please sponsor Thatcham's wonderful, enthusiastic Mayor as ALL proceeds will be equally divided between her nominated charities of Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Hedgehog Bottom.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance – Founded in 2000, are a charity that provides life-saving medical care across Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Their doctor and paramedic crews are able to deliver an advanced level of critical care. They can treat seriously ill or injured patients at the scene, fast. They attend around three life-saving incidents per day and are a vital emergency service that only exists through charitable donations and support.

Hedgehog Bottom – a rescue centre based in Thatcham, cares for sick, injured or orphaned hedgehogs using veterinary guidance. To release all animals that are deemed capable of surviving in the wild. To increase public awareness about the decline in hedgehogs, the hazards they face, and to encourage children to respect hedgehogs and take an interest in them, and to assist in scientific and behavioural research.

Madam Mayor will be accompanied by various guests along the way and would love it if people would pop out and cheer her on!
