I've raised £1500 to Almscliffe Tennis & Bowling Club - Tennis Court and Floodlighting Project

In an effort to keep fit in my "maturing years" so I can continue to enjoy life and play tennis I decided to run a half marathon on October 06th 2019 with the parallel objective of raising money for the new court and floodlighting project at my club, Almscliffe Tennis and Bowling Club (ATBC), Huby.
I will be running the St Aidan's Trail Half Marathon south east of Leeds taking in St Aidan's and Fairburn Ings RSPB reserves, via the RIver Aire - it is supposed to be "undulating" but hopefully not too much! (see (https://racebest.com/races/y83vv)
I would be very grateful if you would support me, particularly as I believe that this project will upgrade our facilities to make them fit for the needs of our community in the 21st century ensuring the continuity of ATBC as a focal point for our great village and a contributor to village life.
We will be building a new synthetic grass tennis court, (which will also be a multi-sports area for primary age children similar to the above picture), resurfacing the two existing courts and installing LED floodlights.
Once completed, the automated access facility on the multi-use games area will allow:
• the Head Teacher of the village primary school access to
o additional space to teach and play sport
o an alternative venue for after school sports
• families to benefit from the use of the venue for
o the provision of junior sports skills such as Brazilian football
o sports holiday camps for aged 11 and under
o private hire for children’s parties
o local grass roots tennis and other junior sports on a pay as you go basis
Floodlights and all-weather surface will enable:
• All year-round rather than seasonal evening play, particularly for youngsters and working adults
• Quality year-round rather than seasonal coaching programmes for adults and children
• Winter bowling practice
Please support me and help us improve our facilities, preserving them for future generations!
