Story

**update**

we have received a number of messages from people who wanted to donat but missed the deadline. We cannot reopen this page so please contact myself or Guy if you would like to make a donation and we can receive transfers/cheques.

**thank you so so much**

Sadly we lost our twin boys. Teddy came and went from this world quickly, quietly, and peacefully on Saturday night, 20/6/2020. Rafe was not born until 105am Tuesday morning, 23/06/2020. Later that morning Rafe struggled and we went back to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to be with him. Around 1230pm he died peacefully in my arms with my husband Guy as we told him all our dreams for him.

We are therefore coordinating this donation fund for research. This will hopefully prevent other families experiencing the same pain. We are so grateful for the care we received from the NHS, and we want to ensure that the learnings from our experience are as widely accesible as possible. We intend this fund to be used for research into identifying and preventing PPROM: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prelabor_rupture_of_membranes

We are very grateful to Sands, and the bereavement teams at our hospitals, for their sensitive and thoughtful care we received. We will always be considering ways that we can help extend their expertise and compassion to more families in need.
