Story
I'm delighted to share some thrilling news – I've just settled the final payment for our Rust2Rome adventure in the French Alps this July!
For those who missed out on last year's escapade, I took part in the Rust2Rome Car Rally, a fantastic journey from Shepton Mallet to Edinburgh and then across Europe to Rome in a £1000 banger. Despite facing a breakdown just two weeks before the journey, I managed to secure the Bora and successfully navigated through Switzerland and the Swiss Alps. This remarkable feat involved 30 other vehicles and spanned over 10 days.
In the spirit of generosity, last year we l raised over £800, which we split among four charities. This year, we're setting our sights higher with the goal of raising £1000 for charity.
Our chosen beneficiaries this time are Swallow and Wessex 4x4 Response:
• SWALLOW is a charity supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to live independently and enjoy life more fully. Learn more at https://www.swallowcharity.org/
• Wessex 4×4 Response is a charity with dedicated volunteers providing emergency logistics for Category 1 & 2 organisations. They operate within the Avon & Somerset, Dorset, and Wiltshire & Swindon Police forces' areas. Find out more at www.wessex4x4response.org.uk.
This year's journey will take me through France and Italy, including the stunning French Alps, with the possibility of extending our adventure to surrounding countries – aiming to cover even more miles than last year!
Every penny counts, and if you prefer to donate in person, feel free to let me know, and I'll happily bring our charity tin to you!
Thank you for your support, and here's to an amazing Rust2Rome adventure ahead!
