Story

EDIT 27/01/21
We are reaching out to help raise £10,000. The UK medical pathway fee was unknown initially but we now have the final fees.
Meg scan £5000.
Neuroendocrine tests £3000.
£8,000 for diagnostics only.
TREATMENT IS UNIQUE TO THE INDIVIDUAL AND AT AN EXTRA COST.
I have been in regular contact with Mandy Bostwick and together we are hoping to cover the fee for Neil and 1 other veteran who are in desperate need of the MEG scan. This is £5,000 each, this does not cover the Neuroendocrine assessments or treatment but will determine if there is a brain injury. This could be life changing.

Neil served in the British Army for 20 years prior to a medical discharge in 2017 for Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) & Psychogenic Non Epileptic Seizures (PNES).
During a tour in PB Ouellette, Afghanistan in 2013 Neil was involved in numerous IDF attacks, one of which lead to him being thrown several metres from the impact of the blast. Instantly he had ringing in his ears & felt disoriented. Months after returning home he was seen by an audiologist who diagnosed him with tinnitus & blast scarring in his ears.
Neil suffered his 1st seizure in 2016, he was seen by DCMH Tidworth & diagnosed by a neurologist with PNES, he was told this was due to PTSD but no neurological tests were done.
We started researching PNES. During our reading, Trauma Brain Injury (TBI) appeared. When we queried this with MOD we were told that as he was never unconscious it would be impossible for him to have a TBI. This is not true.
Neil's had various treatments over the last 6 years via the MOD & NHS. Why are the seizures still occurring? There must be more to it. We've tried every form of treatment for PTSD that is currently available to military veterans.
There are now facilities in the UK with detailed MEG scans and leading specialised consultants who are able to help. This is not currently available on the NHS or with the MOD.
