Story
The Belcadi family lived on the 20th floor of Grenfell Tower. It was a close-knit family with three young girls; eight-year old Malak, five-year-old Tasnim and six-month-old baby Leena, who were looked after by their tireless and loving mother and father, Farah and Omar.
Farah adored her girls more than anything and wanted to see them grow strong and kind. Before having Leena, Farah worked as a teaching assistant. She was considerate, gentle and emotionally generous, with a rare talent for always finding the right words to comfort anyone.
Omar was a doting, hardworking father. The girls wouldn't see him for dinner very often because he worked long hours in the delivery business but they knew he was doing it for them. Omar and Farah were a happy couple and their daughters meant everything to them.
Malak, quiet, sensitive, and thoughtful, was reserved on the outside but had enormous depth inside. Interested in reading and writing, she loved writing stories and dreamt of becoming a writer. She liked to explore fascinating subjects such as Ancient Egypt and was a dependable big sister to Tasnim.
Tasnim is a shining star. Active and artistic, she loves dressing up to perform, sing and dance. Her favorite song is True Colours from the film Trolls, which she sings, or rather screams, with all her passion.
Baby Leena was everyone’s favorite and the girls loved playing with her, their very own doll.
Today Tasnim is the only surviving member of her family. Omar was pronounced dead at the scene while Malak passed away in the hospital two days after the event. Farah and Leena are still missing.
Tasnim has two very close aunts and grandmother to take care of her and is surrounded by the love and support of many other family members and friends.
We’re raising funds to support Tasnim’s future, some of which will be used in the coming months with the rest put away for her education. Your contributions and prayers are greatly appreciated in this difficult time.

7 years agoDear Donors, It's been a year since the Grenfell tragedy and you might be thinking of Tasnim. This is to let you know Tasnim is doing well. She's happy at school, being proud of her ability to spell "because"; she enjoys her swimming and taekwondo lessons; she's also got into ice skating with passion. Her baking and dress design from random elements are pretty impressive too! Once again, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Having some extra stability in the future is a big deal for this child. Lots of love to you and your dear ones.

7 years agoDear Donors! The funds have now been transferred to a trust fund. Family says: We would like to thank everyone who has supported & prayed for Tasnim. As traumatic as events have been, she is a happy child with a sunny disposition, quick to smile and throw a friendly punch. She needs for nothing, is happy in school & continues activities she enjoyed prior to the fire - swimming, taekwondo, BeaverScouts & reading. Most importantly, she is surrounded by love. We are grateful for your prayers & wishes for Tasnim & wish the very best for you all.

8 years agoAnd yet another impressive achievement - £40 000 have been raised and we can't thank you enough! Donations have come from around the world and from an incredible 1091 individuals. The messages of support have been truly uplifting. Our hearts melted as we read a message from 4 y.o. Liliana who donated her pocket money, £13. Tasnim appears stable and well. She goes to the park every day and even engages in water gun fights. The organizers are working out legal details with lawyers. We will update you soon. Thanks for your generosity and prayers!
