My goal for this year was to aim our fundraising from The Talisman to help Watermill school with their funding for sensory rooms and projects for the school.

I had the opportunity to visit the school and see the amazing work the school, teachers and PTFA do already, and i wantes to do good and help with this.

The school caters for children aged 3-16 all children have differing disabilities ranging from ASD (autism), physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, visual impairments, auditory impairments.

As the children’s abilities vary a 4D room or immersive room would enhance teaching and learning throughout the curriculum from a sensory aspect where a child may need a calming environment to manage day to day living, to a complex educational room where a child could explore history in detail e.g . World War One. An immersive room could provide a wide variety resources to meet the needs of all our pupils.
