The cat park is managed by Dawn and Mark Foote, who set it up in 2011 after moving the resident cats from the nearby Agios Neofytos Monastery, and now has over 900 residents! It is run entirely by volunteers, who receive no government funding at all. They rely on donations and sponsorship of the cats to keep going and their annual running costs are in excess of €80,000! This includes costs for food, medication, vet bills, a programme of spaying and neutering and maintenance costs at the cat park. Every penny/cent of all donations goes to the cats and their welfare, with none of the staff taking any money at all.

It has been lovely to see visitors returning to the cat park after the recent pandemic, and this has certainly helped with donations of food and money. Sadly more kittens and cats are still being left in the car park on an almost daily basis, so please, if you are able to, donate to this very worthy cause. Donations can be made by either leaving cash in the donation box at the cat park or by handing money direct to one of the volunteers. Alternatively donations can be made through this website. Rest assured that I pay back in any fees that Justgiving withdraw, so the cat park gets the full amount of your donation.
