Iʼve raised £145 to Walk for Ukraine 🇺🇦 For cultural adaptation of displaced Ukrainian families

Funded on Tuesday, 10th September 2024

    Story

We are a Ukrainian Community in Welwyn Garden City

We have around 50 Ukrainians in our area, who moved here due to the war.

We organise trips for Ukrainian families to different cities in the UK as a part of integration and create happy memories. Travelling around helps kids and women to learn more about local culture and traditions. It’s also important for mental health wellbeing (trips like these help recharge body and mind from previous stress, awake curiosity, desire to live and move on in a new country).

Our target is to walk the same distance as the width of Ukraine, which is 1316 km.

The aim of this challenge is to raise enough money to organise a trip for displaced Ukrainians up to the Arundel Wetland Center this coming autumn. 1000£

Week 4 updates This week we were walking from eastern part of Ukraine from Luhansk to a rural settlement in south of Ukraine called Kyrylivka. This place is located on the northern coast of the Sea of Azov. We made stops in: 🇺🇦 Donetsk, a home of one of the major football club Shakhtar Donetsk and Donbas Arena. 🇺🇦 Mariupol, which used to be the tenth-largest city in the country. So, in total we have made 585.99 km Very grateful to all participants who were taking part in walking and those who support in donating!👏
