Story

Sadly, our friend and colleague Alexander “Steve” Buick passed away after a courageously fought battle with cancer.

Steve worked as a security guard at Ninewells hospital, where he loved chatting with all the staff and patients. He was loved and greatly respected by all who came into contact with him. Steve was always proffessional, taking the safety of staff and patients very seriously. He had a smile and a friendly word for everyone and was always there to offer support when it was needed.

Steve was a loving family man, who doted on his wife Helen, children Stewart and Amy and his grandchildren. Speaking to him only a few weeks back, Steve said he would have loved to have gone back to Ninewells for one more shift to see all his friends and colleagues. This speaks volumes about the type of man Steve was. I think its only right that the people he worked hard to protect while they worked pull together to get a little tribute to him from his Ninewells friends.

The aim is to get something along the lines of a bench with a memorial plaque. Once the money has been raised, this will be discussed with Steves family to decide what they would like, but feel free to make any suggestions if you have any other ideas.
