Story
Hi Everyone!
We are looking to raise funds in order to help with the rehabilitation of our Brain Injury patients.
There are an increasing number of patients with Head Injuries in Glasgow and the staff in Ward 46 offer support to these ones as well as their families.
The staff in Ward 46 range from Domestic Assistants, Healthcare Support Workers, Staff Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists to Consultants. Every one of them play their part in helping the patients progress.
We also have a Brain Injury Nurse Specialist on the ward who takes time out to explain to the patients about the type of injury they have. She also spends time with the family explaining the injury and what to expect as their loved one starts their journey to their new normal way of life.
One of the Healthcare Support Workers is also working alongside Graham Anderson House in Springburn on a project called "Brain Detectives". This project helps children whose relative has sustained a brain injury, using games and other techniques to explain what is happening to them.
We also have staff who are working alongside other hospital services to offer support to those dealing with domestic abuse and suicide through addiction or depression, both patients and others.
Please take a moment to watch this - it's the story of just one of the wards success stories - Vinnie.

The money that we raise will contribute towards rehab equipment, from small pieces of gym equipment to aid with the physical part of the injury to I-Pads to assist with the cognitive part. Every little bit helps.
Staff are also taking part in future events to raise money for the ward - the first of which is a 5K run with inflatable obstacle course in Strathclyde Park!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for any contributions you would like to make.
