Iʼve raised £270 to transform our basement into a workshop room for children with anxiety who can't access help via the children's mental health service.

Story
I have been working with children in a professional capacity since 1997 and during that time I have seen an colossal increase in the number of children with mental and emotional difficulties. Anxiety is just one part of the problem, but it is a very big part.
For the last 12 years I have been working with children in a way that specifically tackle these emotional problems, using CBT, NLP and other holistic and cognitive interventions.
In 2014 I acquired premises with a basement space which is currently dark, damp and pretty stinky. It could make an amazing space for working with small groups of children. Instead of squeezing them in one to one in my small office, we could work together and support each other, offering great potential to their social and communication skills as they learn and grow to manage their anxiety in an after school development club.
What's more, I have developed a brilliant way to ensure that this space isn't just a safe place for them to learn and develop, but that it is also the most exciting superhero experience you can image as a child.
I've developed a new technique called The Time Machine...I've trialed it with a good few children and it has worked amazingly well. Think Doctor Who's tardis meets Wonderwoman with an adventure in space thrown in for good measure!
The Time Machine allows children to go back to when they wish they could have been braver, and allows them to send to their younger-selves all of the good advice they wish that they could have had back then. There's a few additional technical layers to it and I'd love to show you a demonstration one day in our time machine basement.
As it stands the basement is booked in for work to start. I don't yet know how we will raise the money to pay for it, but with the mental health crisis affecting so many of our children I know I will find away, because I have to. This problem is urgent and important and I'd like you to join me in becoming part of the solution.

I have been working with children in a professional capacity since 1997. Twelve years ago I trained in a type of cognitive behaviour skills (NLP) and adapted this for children. I am now meeting more children than ever via my not-for-profit company, helping them overcome anxiety.
