Story
This appeal has been created by Rollo Maughfling Arch-Druid of Stonehenge. It is to fund the cost of the illuminated acoustic stage at the Managed Open Access at Stonehenge.
The stage creates an illuminated focal point of unamplified acoustic music away from the Sacred Stones and the associated coconut matting provides an area for rest. This stage has been used successfully at the Summer Solstice but needs proper funding. The donations will go directly to fund the stage. Spending the whole Summer Solstice night at Stonehenge has been a very special experience for thousands of years and for hundreds of thousands of people in the 21st Century.
The uniqueness of the Stones and site is blessed by the offerings of the remarkable people who come and share. Over recent years, the Acoustic Performance Platform has become another place to listen, sing and dance with some great performers through those 22:30 (10:30 pm) to 04:30 (4:30 am) dark hours, as we wait for the first light of dawn.
In recent years, this has been made possible by one individual donor covering the transport of stage and equipment, setting up, then taking down and insurance costs. In 2019, we need your help – just £1,200 will cover all the infrastructure and help us continue to spread the joy of celebration ever-wider across Stonehenge field, with any balance to be carried forward to subsequent years' Summer Solstice.
Below are some photos from Dave Sanger's acoustic stage at previous Summer Solstices.

6 years agoMany Thanks to everyone who donated to this appeal. We raised enough to cover David Sanger's costs to allow him to bring his fabulous stage to the Stonehenge Managed Open Access for the Summer Solstice 2019 with a surplus to carry forward to 2020. The stage was a huge success. The police drone thermal camera footage shows what an attraction it & the associated matting was. A New Appeal will open soon so we can further improve the visitor experience in 2020. More details on that soon. Bright Blessings from Rollo & his online assistant.
