Last year, Sugar Sugar Events (Luca and Jayden's company) launched the Summer Sessions 2022 - a festival of music bringing together the local community and raising funds for the Royal Marsden where Luca was receiving treatment following his brain tumour diagnosis.

Unfortunately Luca’s latest scans have shown some signs of tumour progression. It was not at all what we wanted to see. His medical team at The Royal Marsden continue to be wonderfully supportive. Luca has been working closely with the drug development team there who have identified a new experimental drug called ONC201.

ONC201 is an orally administered, targeted drug which kills cancer cells but doesn’t damage normal cells. The drug isn’t available on the NHS, however it is available privately in France and Luca has been accepted onto a programme to start treatment beginning Tuesday 31st January in Paris. We are so incredibly thankful that this treatment is a match for Luca’s condition and that, thanks to the generosity of our community, he already has some of the funds needed to begin what we pray will be a successful course of treatment. We remain ever hopeful and Luca is more determined than ever to finish his degree. He will manage commuting between his appointments in Paris and the Royal Marsden with studying in Leeds. Thank you again for all your support – it really does mean the world to Luca.
