Sue Dean Writing Award

Sue Dean (Senior Teaching and Learning Consultant for English and Literacy) sadly passed away in March last year. Sue became a consultant with Lancashire in 2002 and led the team for the past ten years. Her knowledge and passion for the subject was apparent to anyone who ever met her, and she inspired countless teachers in Lancashire and beyond to support children in meeting their potential.

To continue her legacy, Lancashire Professional Development Service have founded the Sue Dean Writing Award which will be launched in the summer term. Our intention for this award is that it is presented to children in schools who have made significant progress in writing throughout the academic year. Each school can then use their award to present to additional children in subsequent years, thereby keeping Sue's memory alive.
