Iʼm raising £150 to Give something back to parklands psychiatric hospital
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
I'm raising money by walking at least 2 miles everyday in October to give something back to parklands hospital where I recently was a patient for 5 weeks. During my time there I was afforded the opportunity to partake in many activities to aid my recovery. One of these was painting, making use of the consumable items such as paint and materials. After being there I saw that funding is limited and relies upon the staff to raise funds through bake sales etc... This an illustration of how the staff go the extra mile for patients, therefore I thought I'd go the extra 2 miles per day to suppprt them and enable future patients to have the same opportunities that I did.
If you can support me in this I would be most grateful, 10 pence or 10 pounds it all helps. I can't fault the staff or the hospital for the care I recieved.
Many thanks in advance

2 months agoInto the final week of my challenge. When I started it I set a target that was a challenge but one I thought achievable. SMART goal setting has enabled me to gain momentum with it and pushing me along the wave has been incredible support and very very kind donations. Thank you so much to everyone. As always another painting or master piece too Regards Stu/Taff Millson ##littlesteps #POC #MTBMTT #OVERWHELMINGSUPPORT

2 months agoI cant explain how absoloutly touched it am at the respone to this page. The kind words let alone the donations are truly amazing. A reminder of the fantastic people that around me. I let my demons win for a bit but I'm letting go of the rope. I have an opportunity right now to rebuild upon a blank canvas to create the best version, and that's what I'm doing, since starting this page I've walked as a minuim 2 miles everyday, it's fired them endorphins and I've joined a gym and pool, I'm rediscovering the PMA that phiss once gave me again.

2 months agoSo 26 miles completed this far and continue to recieve some fantastic support. Yesterday, I traveled to portsmouth to visit a friend i gained during my time in parklands hospital on juniper ward. So seeing as he was the senior service I thought I'd paint something with him in mind, hence the ship painting. Not the best certainly won't win any awards but it soothed me fkr a few hours and enabled me to continue an activity that parklands gave me, which enables me to carry on my recovery pathway.

Stuart, you're story has been fantastically inspiring. A mega effort and one that is critical in highlighting the need for men, and veterans to ask for help when it's needed.
