Iʼve raised £100 to have an app made for use by high rise residents, so that they can easily carry out an audit of the fire safety in their own tower blocks

Story
Stretford House (pictured) is a 23 storey block that's fifty years old and has a single escape staircase. I live on the eighth floor, I'm Chair of the residents association and I'm a former Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Fire Safety Officer.
Naturally, when I witnessed those frightening scenes from GrenFell Tower I sought reassurance from our landlords at Trafford Housing Trust.
What I found shocked and horrified me.
This fund will be used to build a free app for residents here at Stretford House and in high rise blocks all over the UK.
The free smartphone app will guide them through a thorough check of the fire safety facilities in their building.
