I've raised £5000 to help NHS staff at our local Galloway Community Hospital (Stranraer) with the fight against Coronavirus.

With Dumfries and Galloway now having one of the highest rates of confirmed coronavirus cases in Scotland per 100,000 people, our local NHS is working very hard to contain the virus. As a group of people who work in local schools and colleges we would like to try and do a little something to try and help those at the front-line.
We all plan to run/walk 10 kilometres for the cause. Given current restrictions each member of the group will do this on their own with runs phased between Wednesday the 15th of April and Saturday the 25th of April. This should avoid too many people being out at the same time and comply with current guidance with regards to daily exercise restrictions.
Education staff will get their family who they are isolating with (selfies are also allowed) to take pictures or videos of them leaving for and returning from their run. Most people will use an App on their phone to track their run and prove it took place although this is not compulsory given we don't want to put people off taking part.
All of these pictures, videos and route maps will be posted onto this page on a daily basis throughout the week. In the meantime look out for details of all of the local education staff who plan to take part and PLEASE DIG DEEP for such a worthwhile cause. Once all the money has been donated and handed over we will upload a letter of thanks from the recipients. Based on advice which we have received regarding the best way to allocate the proceeds, funds will be directed via our local contact Gwen McCulloch in order to ensure that the money raised can be utilised locally.
