    Story

CROPS IN FIELDS - SOLAR ON ROOFS.
The Stop Shipmeadow Solar Farm Action Group are a group of concerned local people who are in opposition to the proposal to build a 300 acre solar farm. We passionately believe that valuable arable land and the beautiful countryside in our community should not be lost to
    an industrial scale solar development.

At a public information evening held at both Ilketshall St Andrew and Shipmeadow village halls on 25th May, RES promoted some important adaptations to their proposal. The two key changes were a reduction of the intended site to 232 acres and a plan to use Top Road for 60% of construction traffic. The latest plans in full, have been posted on their website - www.shipmeadowsolarfarm.com. The aim of the Action Group is unchanged. We are fighting to STOP the solar farm, not reduce its size. SOLAR ON ROOFS. CROPS IN FIELDS.

Thank you for your support so far. We have just had another 20 placards delivered, so you should be seeing these spring up at various points alongside the daffodils in the next few days. We are in the process of employing a Landscape Surveyor, whose prime objective will be to assess and challenge RES' environmental report once they go to planning. This will be a one of our biggest costs in the process of fighting this proposed development. Please encourage others to donate as you have. Thank you from your Action Group.

We need donations to fight RES and stop them spoiling the beauty of our surroundings and erecting 300 acres of solar panels on valuable agricultural land. This campaign is going to need stamina and a concerted team effort if we are to succeed in stopping this cynical development.
