I've raised £45000 to fund the next stages of the Campaign to Stop Portland Waste Incinerator

Any amount you can donate to help us will be much welcomed as we continue to fight for the communities of Portland, Wyke, Weymouth, Osmington and beyond, to stop this proposal to build a huge waste incinerator plant on the north-east coast of the iconic Isle of Portland.
The proposed plant is so large it will have to import waste from far beyond Dorset for it's lifetime of 30 years. It will emit totally unacceptable amounts of Greenhouse Gases and pollutants whilst generating an additional 80 lorry journeys a day through our streets and consume 56,000,000 litres of clean water every year. The 15MW electricity it would generate could be provided by ONE WIND TURBINE connected via the National Grid, at 1/16 th of the build cost and no ongoing emissions !!
The South West already has surplus capacity in waste incineration and a new plant is finishing construction in Bridgwater. Government Waste data 2019 records all Dorset Landfill is small quantities of inert rubble. Dorset is a County leader for recycling, which all gets remade into new products. Wales has stopped all new incinerators from being built.
Please donate as much as you can so that we can commission specialists to help us fight against this proposed Incinerator. Thank you.
