dksixjeSt Justine’s pre and primary school is a local establishment in Kidatu, Tanzania that relies almost entirely on volunteer help and donation to provide food, education, pay staff and develop the school. I have supported them previously thanks to your generous donations but unfortunately when I arrived in Tanzania as a volunteer in early March I found a very dire situation. Whilst the school is far from a finished establishment and still requires a lot of additional contruction, the on-site hostel, housing ~ 20 children is in immediate need of being rebuilt. It has cracked walls, floors and ceilings, dust and dirt everywhere due to not proper windows and doors, no beds (they use matresses on the floor), a rat problem meaning belongings and bedding are badly damaged, very little mosquito protection (in a high risk malaria zone), very little space or privacy (an issue as the children get older with some of the girls being 13) and no real safety measures apart from one very flimsy bolt. I am thus asking for help to construct a new hostel that can keep these kids safer, healthier, more prepared for learning and lets them play and enjoy childhood. I have input an inital amount of £1000 which i am trying to add to with this page so we can continue construction soon and get suitable plumbing, electricity and interiors for these children ASAP. This is a long term project so please donate, share and keep the word going so we can help these amazing children.
