Dear friends and supporters,

Words cannot express how grateful we are for your kindness and generosity. Your donations have made it possible for us to travel to Madeira in search of essential medical assistance for my dear wife, Paula.

In Madeira, Paula courageously underwent further diagnostic procedures aimed at identifying the underlying cause of her intensely painful and debilitating condition. After the examinations, we anxiously awaited the results, uncertain if more tests would be necessary.

Once we received the results, we returned to Jersey to discuss the findings with Paula's GP, who arranged an appointment for us immediately upon our arrival.

Unfortunately, since our return to Jersey, Paula's health has taken a turn for the worse. She has been rushed to A&E on two separate occasions, with the most recent episode occurring just last night. After waiting for two hours to be seen, Paula was placed in a seated cubicle and given a paracetamol drip in an attempt to alleviate some of her pain.

Paula now has an appointment scheduled with a specialist, but it is still four weeks away. When one is experiencing such excruciating pain, that time can feel like an eternity. I am imploring the hospital to act urgently and prioritize Paula's care. Her condition is deteriorating rapidly, and she desperately requires immediate medical attention.

I am reaching out to ask for your unwavering support and help in advocating for Paula's pressing medical needs. Please share our story, raise awareness, and assist us in urging the hospital to provide the care Paula so desperately requires.

Dear friends, family and community

I am writing to you today to ask for your help in funding my medical travel costs, diagnosis and treatments.

As my friends and family know, I have been experiencing significant health issues that have been causing me a lot of discomfort and concern and have been in and out on of hospital since I was diagnosed with gallbladder stones and had my gall bladder removed in January 2022

I am still in consistent physical and debilitating pain and have since lost 35 kilos since I was hospitalised in January 2022 and experience significant pain every time I eat or move.

My life and mental health have further been completely impacted since my operation and to the point where I’m just existing and waiting for this constant pain to just end.

My family do not recognise me and I am struggling everyday to support them as they do me through this most difficult time.

My husband and family are distressed that they are unable help to improve my quality of life and are shocked at what little support I have received from the Jersey health care system.

My husband has reached out to the health minster for support but with no result to work towards improving my quality of health or life

As a mum and wife I am failing my family because of how much I can be chronically debilitated by my Ill health every day despite my efforts to manage these issues on my own or with family support.

I have no other choice but to seek help from an alternative health care provider in order to get to the root of the problem and find a solution to my continual deteriorating health outside of the island.

Unfortunately, I am unable to afford the cost of further medical diagnosis and treatment on my own. I can not afford medical insurance and so am unable to cover the full cost of the tests and procedures that I need, and I simply do not have the financial resources to pay for them out of pocket and travel aboard to seek further investigation without your help.

I am reaching out to you today to ask for your help in supporting me through this difficult time. Any amount that you can contribute towards my medical treatment would be greatly appreciated and would help me to get the care that I need to get better and move forward with a prognosis.

I understand that these are difficult times for everyone, and I am so grateful for any support that you can offer.
