It saddens me to say my friend and colleague, Steve "Master" Bates has has lost his fight with cancer.
He was a larger than life character with many stories and a massive smile and laugh.
I am hoping to raise money to help support his wife through this tough time. I have only met V a couple of times but I know how brave she has been through the stories Steve has told me. She has also been through a hard battle with cancer and it breaks my heart to know they survived all that only to be told a few weeks ago that Steve had terminal liver cancer. V is still quite unwell and is unable to work. They were living off savings and a small amount of benefit money.
If you are able to spare even the smallest amount then please donate. V is unable to work due to being so unwell and Steve was her primary carer. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Steve was brave and strong until the end and determined not to let his illness win. He continued to smile and held on to his sense of humour but cancer still took another great soul.
