I've raised £1000 to fund the Star Trooper Awards & SHINE Charity

Thank you so much for visiting our Justgiving Page. We are a group of NHS Therapists / Clinicians / Care & Support Staff helping raise funds for an 'extra' project of our own – the Star Trooper Awards; something that could not be funded by central government (as it is in addition to care).
Star Trooper Awards were inspired by our fantastic 2020 Pandemic heroes, recognising Older Adults attempting some immense challenges in their Physiotherapy – yet who courageously meet their mobility and rehab goals.
Some of our Older Adults achieve amazing results with huge efforts in regaining their physical health, despite situations of hardship including bereavement or loneliness. We think they are amazing and deserve some recognition!
Our Certificates for Older Adults meeting Physiotherapy goals are already freely available to all Physiotherapists via the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy iCSP forums and social media. We now hope to raise funds for pin badges for special awards, reconising exceptional effort in circumstances of hardship.
Part of the funds raised will also go to the charity SHINE, which stands for Support, Hope, Inspire, Nurture and Empower. SHINE supports service users with extras like gardening equipment, Christmas decorations for wards, horse-riding outings, and summer activities for young people. These therapeutic activities or items of comfort, assist with people’s care, treatment or rehabilitation – helping towards them live a happier, fuller life.
We hope our brilliant Older Adults can have fun, joining the March of the Physiotherapy Brigade to raise money together, supporting some wonderful causes.
Funding is held with Justgiving until it is passed to SHINE initially to verify the total. Funds will then be split between the Star Trooper Award pin badges (for extraordinary achievement) with distribution to Physiotherapy bases; and SHINE (Registered Charity No. 1165788).
