At Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School in St Albans we are raising literacy standards amongst our students, and need your help to do it!

This summer term, we will be starting the NBS Great Group Read. This is how it works...

Each Year Seven tutor group (approx. 30 students) will read a whole book together during registration periods. By reading alongside their form tutor and peers we hope not only that their enjoyment and understanding of the book will increase but that they'll get into the habit of reading. And when they're done with the first book, they'll just move onto a second.

In order to make this happen, we need to raise the funds to purchase approximately 120 reading books. The funds will also be used to set up, promote and run a Parent/Child Book Club in school. Again this will increase engagement with books in both students and their parents.
