Story
Suicide Support and Awareness For Everyone is a society at the Leeds University Union created by Megan Suckling and Alex Simpson-Hayter. They found that there wasn't enough support for those going through mental health crisis, and even less support for the friends and family surrounding those people. As 2nd year university students, they worked with the union to develop this society, which is now a hub for the Leeds community to find support.
In their 3 years of running, SSAFE has won the
Bright Network Welfare Society Of The Year 2022 Award,
and the LUU Award for best welfare society 2023
