Hi,

We are Springfield Pre-School and we have been part of the Sandiacre community for over 50 years, providing high quality childcare and education to children aged 2 to 4 years of age in a fun, safe and stimulating environment.

But this past 18 months have been a bit of a roller-coaster ride! Having been forced to leave our old building of 17 years we successfully moved into our new premises in late February 2020 but we could not have foreseen that 5 weeks later we would have to close our doors because of a global pandemic.

Operating out of a community building meant we had to remain closed until the government gave us permission to re-open our doors. In mid-June of 2020 we re-opened but only to a limited number of children and we missed saying our usual goodbyes to lots of children who had been under our care over the previous couple of years.

September rolled around and whilst we have been able to remain open to all who needed us we have not been able to host all of our usual activities and fundraisers. We have missed out on our usual Leavers Concerts, Sports Days, Christmas Concerts, Easter Eggstravaganza's , Cake sales, two Summer Fairs and more. Not only are these fun events where parents, staff, friends and the community can come together they also help support the pre-school with our essential fundraising.

And whilst we have held some of our fundraising 'virtually' we have been drastically impacted, as lots of small charities have, by the reduction in income. All our fundraising each and every year is an essential part of pre-school life and enables us to provide the much needed resources and activities that give our little ones those fabulous experiences that give them the necessary skills ready for the next stage of their educational journey.

All we ask is for a donation, no matter how big or small, in lieu of all our missed fundraisers so that we can continue to provide the high standard of care and education that we pride ourselves on. We assure you that any help you can give us will be received with eternal thanks from all the parents, staff and most importantly the children.
