Iʼve raised £195 to The buy supplies for the Homeless Period campaign. Giving resources that homeless women and girls see as luxury items.

Funded on Thursday, 13th July 2017

    Story

Hi everyone, recently I've been wanting to give back and help others as I am fortunate enough to be able to afford to be the things must of us see as necessary items needed for everyday live. However this is not the case for women and girls who are homeless. When people think of donating or helping homeless people they give food drink and money. But what about when homeless females have their period. (I know most people think of this as a taboo subject it's not. It happens naturally and you can't do anything to prevent it occurring) They think of sanitary items as luxury that they can't afford. It's either food or tampons/pads.
It's not only embarrassing but unhygienic and can lead to infections if proper care and resources are available. That's why I've talked to The Homeless Period group to see how I can help. I'm going to be making care packs for the women that contain sanitary items, as well as other toiletries including shampoo, soap, deodorant, and dental products etc.
If you want to help and are in a position to donate. Anything helps, whether it's a share on Facebook, having a donation box in your workplace or a pack of tampons. I hope you get involved in this campaign. Please do. I'm happy to collect donations and please message me if you want to help!
