I will be running liverpool half marathon in memory of Joel Nichols and to honour Joels memory we would like to start fundraising for other young people who live on Teesside who may be struggling with the financial commitment that playing a sport can bring. Throughout Joels childhood he loved sport, it built his confidence, he made many friends and it helped Joel to cope and switch off from the demands that young people often face in society today. Unfortunately most sporting commitments do come with financial demands and often young people not wanting to put restraints on parents/carers who maybe already struggling financially will choose to drop out of their beloved sport. We are hoping that through Joels charity we can possibly help those young stars that could otherwise slip through the net and be forgotten about, we want them to shine x
