I'm running the Huddersfield 10k Road Race on the 26th of February to raise money for Charlotte Baby Home. "The course is undulating (Yorkshire style) but with a fast finish" sounds slightly terrifying so please sponsor me to speed (more likely crawl..) my way through the course!

Charlotte Baby Home is one of the only orphanages in South Sudan that cares for babies and children under the age of 5. They desperately need funds to continue caring for abandoned and orphaned children in a country which has been torn apart by decades of civil war. South Sudan has the worst maternal death rate in the world which makes the work even more essential.

All donations go directly towards financing the day-to-day running of the orphanage, and longer-term projects, such as the agricultural project which aims to make the orphanage self-sufficient.

The orphanage is run by IWASSRU, a grass-roots charity run by widows. It cares for 63 children. It is situated in Kajo Keji, in a compound with the local primary school, the playground, the infirmary and a small plot of farm land.
