Hi there,
My name is Sophie Barton and I have always wanted to go out on mission and show God's love around the world. The perfect opportunity arose when I found out about "The Living Room" in Tenerife which is a centre that strive to love and care for people who have gone to Tenerife expecting a great time and have ended up being caught up in drugs, alcohol and sometimes homelessness.
The Living Room has a drop in centre, where people can come in and chat and pray if they feel the need. We go out on the night life strip helping people who are stuck working behind the bars, dancing inside and on the doors etc, we strive to love these people and talk to them about anything they need to talk about. Homelessness is also an issue so we strive to help with this also, some even fall into hard addictions that are incredibly hard to get out of so we strive to help with this. Also, for those who are serious about getting back on track with their lives we offer rehab/recovery time for them, drop in times can be available for times of talking and times of prayer.
All in all the living room is something I have become passionate about and really want to get involved in!
I am raising money for flights, going out and coming back, and for my time out there as I plan to go for a week!
