I have decided I would like to run my marathon for two different charities. The first for cancer research for my Nana Irene and the other for The Worster - Drought support group.

This is for my friend Kerry Jones and her son Ronnie who suffers with worster - drought which is a form of congenital suprabulbar paresis that occurs in some children with cerebral palsy. It is caused by inadequate development of the corticobulbar tracts and causes problems with the mouth and tongue including impaired swallowing

For Ronnie the first 8 months they had no idea he had it. He spent a majority of this time in hospital. He was then made nil by mouth and had a peg fitted and is machine fed! It's a very dangerous condition, as if he was to eat or drink he could aspirate which could go on his lungs and kill him! Simple things like brushing his is impossible. The doctors have said he is lucky to be alive as he has been aspirating since birth and wasn't diagnosed until much later on.

The Worster - Drought Support group raise money for multiple thing:
-To offer support to other families affected by Worster-Drought Syndrome.
-To raise awareness of Worster-Drought Syndrome with professional workers and other interested individuals.
-To raise awareness of Worster-Drought Syndrome Support Group.
-Support and promotion of any research into Worster-Drought Syndrome
