I've raised £500 to split between Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and Dorothy House Hospice Care

My dad ran half marathons for charity for decades, but now has been told that he's not allowed to run the distance any more (by the doctor and by my mum). So I'm taking up the running mantle with not one, but two half marathons!
By a quirk of (dis)organisation I am running both the Cambridge Half Marathon and the Welwyn Half Marathon within two weeks of each other, making a full marathon for the month of March! I've not run more than 6 miles before, so this is going to be a hell of a challenge.
I'm raising money for two charities, hence why this is a personal page rather than a charity page. The first is Dorothy House Hospice Care: the organisation my dad supported through his running, and which provided outstanding palliative care for both of his parents in the last years of their lives. The second is Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, a charity I have been involved with for many years. Their principal work is saving species from extinction, incredibly important work preserving our shared biodiversity, and something that they have done with great skill for decades.

Please consider supporting these charities and making the inevitable excruciating pain worth it!
