For over fifty years, hundreds of volunteers at Gwernyfed have dedicated time and effort to develop rugby in the Black Mountains and to provide facilities that will encourage youngsters to participate in the sport. Today, we see the fruit of that dedication at Trefecca road - but more importantly, we see it on the faces of those enjoying the camaraderie and Corinthian spirit so readily apparent at Gwernyfed Rugby Football club.
I along with many others, will be taking part in a sponsored bike ride to raise funds to purchase the pitches at Trefecca road to help secure the future of the club and its players. The ride will take place over the weekend of 19th and 20th May 2017, and will take us from Holyhead RFC the club furthest north in Wales to Llantwit Major RFC, the club furthest south.
