Story
HALESOWEN ST JOHNS CLOCK.
Most people are aware the towns clock as stopped. At 12.15. (So its always right at least twice a day). Which means also the chimes that keep us on time have fallen silent too.
The reason is as follows.
The main cable has broken that keeps the escapement and pendulum going. It would also need a new anchorage point for the cable..in order to get it working again. The work will cost around £600 for this to be done.
We are looking at ways to try and get the money raised so we can pay for this to be done and we are determined to get our towns clock going again.
Church clock. Originally paid for by public subscription for Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee. And we are looking at ways to try and et money raised so we can get the clock moving and sounding again. As it is sad to see her still and silent.
Thank you for time.
