Story
I'm sure you'll all agree that Simon has been a pillar of the Broseley community for many years as well as providing us with an outstanding family butchers on our High Street, lots of delicious food, fantastic customer service and his friendly smile. Following a serious motorbike accident on 3rd April when he was seriously injured Simon is recovering in hospital in Oswestry and will face a long road to recovery. To this end I would like to raise £10,000 and hopefully more to help Simon and his family with any ongoing expenses they may incur, whether its the travel to and from the hospital, adapting their home to meet Simon's needs, any mobility equipment he may require in the future or even just a decent holiday for the family to enjoy to recover from what must have been a horrific time in their lives. I know what a fantastic community we have living in Broseley and most of us know and love Simon Gibbons butchers so please give generously.

8 years agoAnd the latest news is from the Lady Forester Trust who asked how they could support the fundraising. I've kept them informed of all the events and the running total. I received an email today saying the trustees are prepared to match fund the total on the day Simon is released from hospital up to the value of £5000, so if the crowdfunding and other bits reach £5000, they will match it and we will hit the target of £10,000. We still have a couple of events in the pipeline so thank you for your continued support in getting Simon home :)

8 years agoApologies for being a bit quiet over the summer holidays, now my son is back at school I have a bit more time on my hands!! :) So a positive update and fantastic news to follow as I only have 400 or so characters to use...... Firstly, Si Fest was organised by some of Paula's friends and held at the social club on Saturday 10th September, Paula has just paid in £1850 to the new Lloyds bank treasurers account we have set up to receive all the donated money. That's on top of the £800 in donations received in collections around town

9 years agoFantastic effort so far, thank you everyone. Looking into opening a treasurer's bank account for all the money being raised as it is for an individual we can't register as a charity. The Black Swan in Jackfield are holding a quiz night on 20th July and the Lady Forester Trust wish to donate a cheque so need somewhere that cash and cheques can be paid into, also for those who don't use the internet who wish to make donations. Will keep you posted 😊

I've moved to Broseley in August 2005 and now live in Church Street. I work at Blists Hill and a single mum to my son who attends JW school. Simon's daughter babysits my son every Monday night and I can often be seen jogging around the town or walking our cocker poodle
