Silviya is currently battling cancer and needs your help!
It all started in May when Silviya found a lump and immediately sought medical attention in the Isle of Man, where she has resided for the past eight years. Unfortunately, her GP failed to recognise the symptoms and refused to refer her to the Breast unit, reluctantly the GP finally agreed to book Silviya an ultrasound but classified her as the lowest priority which meant she could expect to wait several months for it. After many attempts to get assistance from the Isle of Man Health service Silviya sought help abroad, where she was diaganosed straight away with stage 3 breast cancer.
Silviya wanted to come back to the Isle of Man for treatment but was told she had to be diagnosed again which would have taken time that she didn't have so she is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Turkey, each session being 21 days apart and cannot travel back to the Isle of Man between sessions due to the possibility of infection. The treatment had to start straight away as there were no more room for mistakes and unnecessary time delays. For her, this is the start of a very long and terrifying journey and she needs every little help she can possible get in this very difficult time. Surgery will be required after the chemotherapy and the cost of the treatments is estimated to be more than £25 000.
Everyone who has the privilege to call her a friend knows what an amazing person Silviya is. Always trying to help others, even now when she needs help more than ever, she donated her hair for the production of wigs for people with cancer. This is an appeal to raise money and to try and help this young soul to get her life back and win the battle!
