Story
Many of you will know me from visiting my Annual Charity Winter Wonderland Christmas Lights at my house on Stow Hill Newport over the past 6 years. During those years we have raised over £70,000 for local charities due to your generosity. Unfortunately I have been unable to present the lights again this year because in January 2017 I suffered a major stroke. I spent 6 months in St Woolos Hospital Stroke ward being cared for by their fantastic team. I could not have asked for better care from everyone there. I am improving every day thanks to the continuing support from the team at St Woolos and would like to show my appreciation to them by raising funds to supply valuable equipment that will help them to improve the quality of life for future stroke survivors. I would like to purchase equipment for the ward that will help patients retain as much dignity as possible following the trauma of a stroke. I also wish to provide additional equipment for the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist teams to help speed up patients recovery.

I have enjoyed fundraising for over 40 years having raised money for a wide variety of local causes. In my years running The Irish Club & The Picton I have helped to raise over 1 million pounds. Due to my stroke I am unable to walk but I can still fundraise with your support.
