The core of these young men have mostly played football together from the age of 5, with additions along the way and have been playing in division 1 for over 7 years.

At the start of last season, the longstanding coach stepped down, to concentrate on being Dad and two parents stepped in and saved the team from folding. We had a mixed season finishing 5th in the division although we won the U13 Copa Jordi tournament in Barcelona this Easter, which was amazing, not only in football terms but also in terms of team and parent bonding.

Sadly the two parents who stepped in have decided that the commitment was too much and now two new coaches have stepped in to take this team forward at a time where other teams are on the hunt for good players but the core of the players want to stay together and have decided to move clubs to Shenley FC in Milton Keynes rather than disband and all go in different directions.

At a BBQ this bank holiday a competition was set to raise funds and to decide on our new team name which will be Shenley FC U14 Cobra's! The vote was great fun & underpins the importance of empowering our children and putting them first, before anything else.

The sense of feeling from the parents is that we will all pull together and donate and raise funds wherever possible and encourage the boys to do various sponsored events to generate funds to help themselves, however due to changing clubs, we do need an immediate injection of funds to get set up.

The cost of two kits, tracksuits, printing and embroidery is £1500, so far we have received sponsorship in the form of balls and training equipment and some cash and we just need a little outside help if you are able?

The decision to keep this team together is a result of many weeks discussions as all of our children had options, seeing these young men articulate their sense of feeling, overwhelmingly won through and they deserve every credit and support where possible.
